Cloud travelers

In the fall of 1499, the young book printing assistant, Master Zosimo Aleppo, is launched from Venice by Master Van Graan to obtain the parchments worn in his crotch by a mysterious student referred to by everyone as the Robin. There are many rumors surrounding these writings: perhaps prophecies, revelations, or secret memoirs ... Zosimo’s destination is Milan, but arriving late, the student has already moved on from the city. So he follows in his footsteps to Mantua, from there to France, then back to Naples and finally to Atella in Basilicata: he walks through cities and countryside, wanders in fog and snow, falls in love with an amber-skinned, cat-eyed girl named Nuevomundo, meaning New World; he comes into contact with merchants, knights, innkeepers, spies, church figures, and dubious figures, pretending to be a painter, poet, mercenary, only to be able to trace the desired manuscript. Lupo’s great predecessor in Italian literature was Ariosto; a XX. The first followers of Leonardo da Vinci, Pico della Mirandola, Isabella dEste and Gutenberg instead of the Buendía tribe make up the large family of the world-famous world literature of the 19th century. The special value of the book is the parade of the diverse linguistic culture of contemporary Italy. Cloud Travelers is an investigation into a book, as books are the drivers of our destiny and history. Imaginary maps are drawn before us in this story, which is at once a travelogue, a picaresque, a developmental novel: a dream journey. During Zosimo's mission, he rediscovers the old, forgotten time of his own origin and finds his identity. GIUSEPPE LUPO was born in 1963 in the town of Atella in the province of Basilicata in southern Italy. He currently lives in Lombardy, XX. century and contemporary Italian literature is taught at the Sacred Heart Catholic University of Milan. He is the author of several literary history studies and a permanent contributor to Avvenire and the cultural section of Sole24Ore. In 2011, she won the Selezione Campiello Award for her novel The Last Bride in Palmira. Published in 2013 by Marsilio Publishing House in Venice, Cloud Travelers is his fifth novel, which was nominated for a Strega Prize in 2014 on the recommendation of Sebastiano Vassalli, the recently deceased master of contemporary Italian fantasy literature. MARGIT LUKÁCSI (1965) lives in Budapest, assistant professor at the Italian Department of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, XIXXX. teaches 19th century Italian literature. He published several translations, and in 2008 the Ambassador of the Italian Republic recognized his work with a commemorative plaque for Italian culture.
