The homeland is waiting

József Káliz Sajtos was born on February 12, 1950 in Soponya. He graduated from the Ybl Miklós High School in Székesfehérvár, and in 1979 he graduated from the Szombathely Teacher Training College with a degree in Hungarian Folklore. After that, he taught at the Soponya Primary School. In 1992, he obtained a secondary school teaching qualification majoring in Hungarian language and literature at the ELTE Faculty of Arts. Since 1981, he has also been involved in dialect research. The Hungarian Linguistics Society published the Sárvíz-ment language atlas, followed by the Sárvíz-ment landscape dictionary two years ago. The author has been participating in the cultural life of his native village and Fejér County for several decades. In addition to exhibitions and lecture series, it organizes writer-reader meetings and poetry contests. Simultaneously with his ethnographic and local history collections and theses, he started writing poems from the 1970s. The poems and writings of József Káliz Sajtos are published in county and national newspapers - Agria, Pannon Tükör, Vár, Stádium. So far, ten volumes of his poems, two volumes of studies, a film script and a sociography - presenting the history of the family and the Mezőföld - have been published. In 2005, Sándor Csoóri's book "Celebration on the Mountain" was published under the editorship of our author.
